Coaches Information Page

This is the Coaches information page that will be updated frequently with tips, drills, forms; and dates and facility locations for Clinics. Keep checking in. We are Currently looking for a "Coaching Coordinator" on our Board. Details of the position are available under the "About Us" tab on our website, "Board position descriptions".
All Volunteers wanting the opportunity to coach must have the level of certification for their required Division.
The ALA has mandated the Respect in Sport program, all coaches and officials must complete this program prior to the start of this season. This course takes approximately 3 hours which can be done in sections. The coach or official can log in and out at their convenience. The program remembers the last section completed. Clinics have been scheduled for our area. They are great courses and are recommended for any parent wanting to learn the sport of lacrosse. The mustangs club will re-imburse all of our coaches registration fee's upon completion of the course. Click Here to register

As per Mustang Lacrosse Club policy all coaches are required to fill out a RCMP criminal records check form in order to coach in the 2010 season. You must obtain a form from your Director and then have 2 pieces of I.D and fill the forms out at the police station.
Coaches Code of Conduct:
-Reinforce an absolute no tolerance policy on bullying, on the floor, in the dressing room, or in the arena. -Teach and practice good sportsmanship at all games and practices. You are role models! -Know the rules of the game of lacrosse. -Emphasize the fun of the game, the team, and always putting forth your best effort at all times. -Remember that players play to have fun and must be encouraged to have confidence in themselves. -Teach players to play fair. Respect the rules, officials, coaches and opponents. -Ensure that all players get equal instruction time and support. -Obtain proper training and continue to upgrade your coaching skills. -Foster regular and effective communications with players and parents. -Do not ridicule or yell at players for making mistakes or for poor performance.
